XVII Lithuanian Urban Forum dedicated to the vision of a sustainable Lithuania
2023/11/06On Thursday, 9 November, the Ministry of the Environment is organising the 17th Lithuanian Urban Forum "Sustainability - just a catchy slogan or the everyday reality of urban planning?". This year's forum will discuss the vision of a sustainable Lithuania, how it transforms cities and reflects the everyday needs of citizens.
We will also exchange views on how to avoid urban sprawl by opening up and adapting different spaces for different groups of people. We will look at how sustainable planning and green urban spaces affect people's habits and the role artificial intelligence can play in cities.
Mindaugas Pakalnis, Head of the Urban Planning Unit of the Construction Sector Development Agency, will give a presentation on "Sustainable Cities. Which way to go?".
The Lithuanian Urban Forum, organised annually by the Ministry of the Environment together with social partners since 2007, has a long tradition of cooperation and open discussions. One of its main objectives is to work together in an integral way, recognising that urban planning problems and issues need to be addressed by a broader range of specialists, including science, business and practitioners.
The Forum is always open to new ideas and discussions. It is a platform for sharing experiences and expanding urban planning knowledge.
