UAB Projektana has had its certificate of qualification revoked
2023/10/24The Construction Sector Development Agency (SSVA) has revoked the certificate of qualification of the building contractor UAB Projektana. The company was working on the site in Kaunas and at the time did not have a qualification certificate entitling it to work in the territory of a cultural heritage object, its protection zone and a cultural heritage site.
For this reason, UAB Projektana was unable to carry out works at T. Daugirdo str. 1, where residential buildings were being converted into a multi-purpose science and sports centre.
In order to assess the quality of the construction works carried out, the SSVA proposes that the State Territorial Planning and Building Inspectorate (VTPSI) carry out an independent expert examination of the building.
SSVA is also continuing its investigation into other works carried out by UAB Projektana - installation of pile foundations - in Vilnius District, Pagiriai, Šiltnamių g. 29 and Šiltnamių g. 33, during the construction of buildings and structures for production and industrial purposes.
"SSVA repeatedly ordered the contractor to submit the reports of all the 1500 test piles installed, with the specific pile numbers, and to provide information proving that all the test piles had been replaced by new ones after testing. So far, the contractor has only provided this information for 18 of the test piles," said Aidas Vaičiulis, Director of SSVA.
For these reasons, SSVA also proposes that the VTPSI carries out an independent structural assessment.
