Building Data Bank
Project No: 01-002-P-0001
Project name: "Building Data Bank"
Project duration: from 22.02.2023 to 01.07.2025.
Project funding amount: €2 587 732,55
Source of funding: EU's Economic Recovery and Resilience Plan "Next Generation Lithuania".
Project promoter: Construction Sector Development Agency.
Project partners: Ministry of Environment, State Territorial Planning and Building Inspectorate, State Enterprise Agriculture Data Centre.
Summary: Currently there is no single solution in Lithuania to centrally connect relevant data for building maintenance and renovation promotion. A process for planning and implementation of building maintenance, energy efficiency improvement, renovation promotion would solve a fundamental problem related to making appropriate decisions to promote renovation - the lack of data on building maintenance (which includes the assessment of the building's technical and operational condition).
The project will create a Building Data Bank that will collect information on building characteristics, maintenance documentation, building condition, energy performance, energy and/or fuel consumption, analyse this data for monitoring and promoting renovation, and provide information to the public on the current state of buildings and the renovation process.
Target groups: the public, the Ministry of the Environment, the Construction Sector Development Agency, the State Territorial Planning and Building Inspectorate, municipalities, administrators of housing.
Outcome to be achieved: The Building Data Bank will allow for a more efficient and data-driven process of building maintenance decisions and the promotion of renovation. The public will be involved in the renovation process, showing an assessment of the current state of the building and all the renovation options and costs.
The project objective contributes to the headline "Mitigate climate change, including improving the energy efficiency of residential and municipal public buildings and promoting the use of energy from renewable sources" of the 2022-2030 Development Programme of the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania, which manages the development programme for the protection of the environment and the management of climate change.
