Build Up Skills LT 2030
In September 2022, the fifth ongoing LIFE21-CET-BUILDSKILLS-REBOOT-SKILLS-LT project (Build Up Skills LT 2030), part-funded by the European Commission (EC) through various programmes, started.
Launched in 2011, the BUILD UP Skills initiative supports the upskilling of construction professionals across Europe to meet the European Union's (EU) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the buildings sector by 2030.
Build Up Skills LT 2030 aims to assess the needs for certification of existing and new competences for sustainable construction. The assessment focuses on sustainable construction areas related to digital technologies, smart buildings, resource efficiency, circular economy, integration of renewable energy technologies, life cycle assessment, etc., in the context of the broader sustainable construction goals.
One of the objectives of the Build Up Skills LT 2030 project is to renew the platform connecting the construction sector stakeholders' competence development organisations in Lithuania (employers' and employees' organisations, education and training centres, public authorities). The second objective of the project is to update the analysis of the current market situation (Status Quo) and the national action plan (Roadmap) developed in the first phase of the Build Up Skills LT 2030 project in 2011-2012 to reflect the new reality of the competences needed in the construction sector in relation to the European energy targets for 2030.
The project is implemented by the Lithuanian Builders' Association with partners Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH), Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Public Institution "Regional Innovation Management Centre", Public Institution "Construction Sector Development Agency" and Public Institution "Digital Construction".
