Authorised organisations

Higher education institutions, associations, unions, other public organisations or educational institutions (hereinafter - authorised organisations) have the right to develop programmes for professional knowledge examinations and to carry out professional knowledge examinations, with the exception of architects whose professional knowledge is examined by the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Lithuania (Art.12(11) of the Law on Construction).

The organisations perform the following functions:

  1. may assess the Applicant's professional knowledge (issue a document of assessment of professional knowledge) when the Minister of the Environment has approved the programmes of professional knowledge examinations prepared by them;
  2. organise refresher training in accordance with training programmes agreed with the Ministry of the Environment (issue training certificates);
  3. may receive and forward the applicant's certification documents to the SSVA;
  4. may make it possible to take the legal knowledge examination on the premises of the authorised organisation.

Training and professional knowledge programmes

All training and professional knowledge programmes developed by the authorised organisations and approved by the Ministry of the Environment can be found in the following list.

The professional knowledge of civil engineers and architects applying for the right to take up the position of managers of the main areas of construction technical activities in the construction of nuclear installations is currently (until there is an authorised organisation entitled to assess professional knowledge) examined by Certification Experts appointed by the SSVA.

NOTE:
Architects are attested by the Lithuanian Chamber of Architects (Kalvarijų g. 1, LT-09310 Vilnius; tel.: (8-5) 275 6483, 275 5948; fax. (8-5) 272 4825).
Certification of architects to act as managers in nuclear power facilities shall be carried out by the Public Enterprise Construction Sector Development Agency.
